This afternoon I walked into a low-hanging branch by the lake. Hard. I don't know how I didn't see it coming, and whether anyone else has smacked their face on the same branch.
At least the weather is beautiful, in every sense of the word. I am eager for winter and snow and stillness, but the process of getting there is pretty nice too.
Those sting like the devil. I can almost feel it from here. It's a sobering advent to wintry slips and falls. And a delight in spite of our ungainliness. Mine , anyway.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! But Dad...please try your best to avoid the tree branches this time around. :)
DeleteWouldn't you prefer foliage so some low-hanging indoor ornament though? nature's injuries are all the more invigorating.
ReplyDeleteHesketh, you're completely right! I'd much rather be smacked by an indignant tree than an entitled chandelier from Pottery Barn.
